Chair of the MAGNETOFON Action

Prof. dr. A.I. Kirilyuk (Andrei)

chair of Condensed Matter Physics department at HFML-FELIX Laboratory

Main scientific interests

Andrei Kirilyuk is a Full professor at Radboud University and is chairing the department of Condensed Matter Physics at FELIX Laboratory. His main research interests are in magnetization dynamics and ultrafast switching in magnetic dielectrics and metallic films, magneto-optics, and nano-magnetism. A recent highlight is the Nature Physics publication on magnetic switching in ferrimagnetic dielectric via resonant excitation of optical phonons. He is a chair of COST Action MAGNETOFON and a member of the International Advisory and Steering committees of several magnetic conferences. He (co-)authored around 250 publications.
